Why do we require fire doors.

So in simple terms, fire doors play a major role in any passive fire protection construction and fire safety plan. Door way access points are recognized as a weak point in containing a fire as it represents a opening  break in the barrier formed by fire protection construction compartmentation. A door also requires a gap between the frame and the leaf and often includes metal components that conduct heat. Using a certificated fire door, with the compatible  components identified in the fire test data sheet, will ensure the fire barrier is maintained.
